 IT Infrastructure Solution for a London based Media-Independent Company

The customer’s campaign tracking System:

Comprised of a large number of ASP pages with SQL Server database. Much of the business logic was held in stored procedures on the database.

A British software house had developed the initial build of the system but had gone out of business and there was no source code or functional documents available.

The system was hosted by Mistral, but the contract had expired and required renewal. No support from hosting company was provided at the time and a very expensive package was being recommended by the existing hosting provider.


The company had also identified the following IT support requirements besides the need of re-development of the whole system

System hosting/deployment should be planned and handled by a new IT partner.

Technical support and System management services should be available through the new IT partner.

IT Contingency Planning requirement should be handled by the new IT Partner.

All the technical Documentation along with User’s Manuals should be prepared and available with the new IT partner for the whole System at any time.
The new Hosting package should include:
 
  • Optimum hosting package
  • Daily back-ups of differential data should be provided regularly
  • Full weekly back up should be available
  • Database restoration in the event of corruption or system failure should made available at all times
  • Database Consistency should be guaranteed
  • Log Maintenance should be carried
  • The whole system should be readily available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Our Suggested Solution
AMOS suggested that that the customer does not need a State-of–the-art Hosting plan as quoted by the existing hosting company.  The hosting solution defined below was sufficient to satisfy the needs of the customers for years to come thus providing a substantial saving over the years.
